Dreaming of Libraries

from http://myidealhome.tumblr.com/

When I was in gradeschool, I dreamt of becoming a librarian.  I would spend hours in the school library, choosing to take the school bus’ second trip just to have more time after class.  Instead of heading off to the field to tumble in dirt with my classmates, I would revel in the smell of old books, go thru the card catalogs, and make tough decisions like which book could I finish in 2 hours and which book I could borrow to bring home.

I don’t think that dream ever faded.  And my love for paper, books and the sweet intoxicating smell of it has just stuck to my soul terribly.  I want our condo to smell like a bookstore.  And if only I had enough space, I would have a library.  Maybe in the future.  For now, here are some lovely inspirations for fellow “librarians” like me.

  1. Luv luv luv…and i share the same dream somehow…didnt dream of becoming a librarian though hehe but yes, the smell of old pages in every book is like perfume for me hihi :P someday we’ll get our dream libraries in our home Foz *wink*

  2. i wanted to become a librarian too, primarily because i love stamping (due dates, cute stuff, numbers, anything with stamps!) on the library cards. we’re (my son and i) are starting our own mini-library at home, and hopefully we can expand it. :)

    • we do hope we could get a library going in our home too :) we’re looking forward to our little one loving books.
